Steps to connect to COCC Open Community Network

What is COCC’s Open Community Network?  The “Open Community Wireless Network” is available in a large number of buildings across most campuses.  This wireless network does not require a username and password once you connect and will allow ready access to the Internet and is available to everyone.  Below are instructions to access this free COCC service.

Access the wireless connections available from your laptop. Typically, you can find by looking in the notification bar area at the bottom right of your laptop monitor. Right click and you should see an option called “open community network” – this is the wireless internet connection that doesn’t require your COCC login. Note:  if you don’t see the wireless connections in the notification tray, you may also need to access via the Control Panel, Network options (look for something that indicates connecting to a network)

Click on the Open Community Network option and then click Connect.

If you receive an unsecure  message click – connect anyway.

You are now connected – and you can open your internet browser.
